ASUS Republic of Gamers has expanded its keyboard portfolio with the introduction of the Azoth 96 HE, a new addition to the ROG Azoth series designed to offer a balance of gaming performance, customization options, and a compact 96% layout. The new model brings several hardware and design updates that set it apart from earlier variants in the lineup, making it suited for users who prefer a mix of mechanical precision and modern features.

The Azoth 96 HE replaces the traditional ROG NX mechanical switches seen in previous Azoth keyboards with the new ROG HFX V2 magnetic switches. These switches work with the ROG Hall sensor system, enabling advanced control over actuation. Users can adjust the actuation point anywhere between 0.1 mm and 3.5 mm, with fine-tuning available in 0.01 mm increments. According to ASUS, each unit undergoes a multi-step calibration process during manufacturing, where the travel distance of each key is recorded. This data contributes to improved consistency and enhances Rapid Trigger performance by offering more accurate and responsive input detection.

Connectivity is another major focus for this release. The Azoth 96 HE supports tri-mode connectivity, including ROG SpeedNova 8K wireless, wired USB, and Bluetooth. The keyboard can pair with up to five devices at the same time, making it suitable for users who switch between systems. The 8000 Hz polling rate is available in both wired and SpeedNova wireless modes without requiring any additional accessories. This update positions the Azoth 96 HE as one of the more flexible options in the high-end gaming keyboard market.

ASUS has equipped the new model with a 1.47-inch full-color OLED touchscreen, identical to the display featured in the flagship Azoth Extreme. The screen shows system information, keyboard settings, lighting modes, and performance metrics. A three-way control knob allows quick access to menus and adjustments directly from the keyboard, reducing the need for software during everyday use.

To improve typing comfort, the Azoth 96 HE uses a gasket-mounted structure supported by six layers of dampening material. These include four PORON layers, an IXPE sheet, and a silicone pad. This combination helps manage vibrations and reduce switch noise. The gasket can also be adjusted by swapping internal layers, giving users more control over the feel of the keyboard.
In terms of appearance, ASUS has opted for a metal top cover for a more refined finish. Users can further personalize the keyboard with optional translucent keycaps featuring ROG design elements.
The Azoth 96 HE is now available in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland at a recommended price of EUR/CHF 399 including VAT. Initial availability is through Cyberport, with additional retailers set to offer the keyboard starting in January.
