AOOSTAR Launches First MoTD Motherboards with AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX3D and 9955HX Zen 5 CPUs

AOOSTAR has announced the launch of the world’s first “Motherboard-on-the-Desk” (MoTD) motherboards equipped with AMD’s new Ryzen 9 9955HX3D and Ryzen 9 9955HX processors. This release positions AOOSTAR as the first company to bring Zen 5 mobile-class CPUs into compact desktop-ready solutions.

The Ryzen 9 9955HX and 9955HX3D are built on AMD’s latest Zen 5 core architecture. Both processors feature 16 cores and 32 threads with boost clock speeds reaching up to 5.4 GHz. They carry a default 55W TDP, which can be configured up to 75W depending on system design. The Ryzen 9 9955HX comes with 64 MB of L3 cache, while the Ryzen 9 9955HX3D doubles this with 64 MB of additional 3D V-Cache, bringing the total to 128 MB for improved performance in cache-sensitive workloads.

The AOOSTAR MoTD motherboard adopts an M-ATX design with a black-and-white finish and a 10-phase VRM for stable power delivery. Thermal management includes heatsinks for both the VRMs and M.2 slots. Expansion support covers a PCIe 5.0 x16 slot for discrete graphics, a PCIe 4.0 x1 slot, and two PCIe Gen5 x4 M.2 slots for NVMe SSDs. Memory compatibility extends to dual DDR5 UDIMM slots supporting up to 128 GB.

For cooling, the CPUs ship pre-attached with a vapor-chamber baseplate acting as the IHS cover, while the motherboard maintains AM5 cooler compatibility. Connectivity includes two SATA III ports, several fan headers, 7.1-channel audio support, and multiple USB ports. Power is delivered via a single 8-pin connector, keeping the design compact and efficient.

In terms of pricing, the Ryzen 9 9955HX3D MoTD motherboard is set at 4799 RMB (around $650 USD), while the Ryzen 9 9955HX variant will cost 3799 RMB (approximately $500 USD). These options present strong value when compared to AMD’s desktop Ryzen 9 9950X3D, which retails for $700 without a motherboard.

AOOSTAR’s early entry into this segment strengthens its position against competitors such as Minisforum, which previously revealed plans for a Ryzen 9 9955HX MoTD based on the X870M chipset but has yet to confirm release details. With these new boards, AOOSTAR is aiming to expand the adoption of MoTD solutions in the mainstream market.
