AOC has announced the release of its latest gaming monitor, the AGON AG277UX, which introduces a new approach to display versatility. The 27-inch monitor features a dual-mode design that allows users to switch between 1080p at 320Hz and 4K at 160Hz. This configuration aims to serve both high-speed competitive gamers and those who prefer immersive single-player experiences with higher visual fidelity.

The AG277UX is equipped with a Fast IPS panel that provides a wide 178° viewing angle in both horizontal and vertical directions. It offers a gray-to-gray (GTG) response time of 1ms, while the Motion Picture Response Time (MPRT) can be reduced to 0.5ms. This fast response minimizes motion blur and ghosting during intense gameplay sessions. The panel delivers a typical contrast ratio of 1000:1, with standard brightness rated at 350 nits and a peak brightness of 600 nits under HDR mode. It is also certified for DisplayHDR 600, ensuring better contrast and more vivid highlights in supported content.
Color accuracy is another focus of this display. The AG277UX covers the full sRGB color gamut and ships with a factory calibration where the ΔE value is less than 2. This level of accuracy makes it suitable not only for gaming but also for light photo editing and video work. The combination of high refresh rate options, fast response times, and precise color output gives users flexibility for both work and entertainment.

To enhance gameplay performance, AOC includes several gaming-oriented functions. These include dark field control for better visibility in low-light scenes, an on-screen crosshair for improved aiming, and a frame counter. The monitor also supports PBP (Picture-by-Picture) and PIP (Picture-in-Picture) modes, allowing users to connect two devices and view them simultaneously on the same screen.
For connectivity, the AG277UX offers a comprehensive set of ports including two HDMI 2.1, one DisplayPort 2.1, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and three USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A ports for peripherals. It also supports AMD FreeSync and Adaptive-Sync technologies to eliminate screen tearing and stuttering during fast-paced gaming. On the physical design side, AOC has included a convenient headphone hook on the right side, helping users maintain a clean and organized desktop setup.

The AGON AG277UX brings together features that appeal to both casual and competitive gamers, offering flexible refresh rate options, accurate color reproduction, and wide compatibility. Its dual-mode operation and modern connectivity make it a capable choice for those seeking a single display that adapts to multiple types of games and usage scenarios.
