AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D and 9900X3D CPUs Pricing and Launch Date Leaked

AMD has officially confirmed the pricing and release date for its upcoming Ryzen 9000X3D series processors. According to early listings on the Chinese retailer JD.com, the flagship Ryzen 9 9950X3D is priced at approximately 5,599 RMB, while the Ryzen 9 9900X3D will retail for 4,599 RMB. Both models are set to become available in retail channels on March 12, with the review embargo reportedly lifting one day prior, as first noted by VideoCardz.

The Ryzen 9 9950X3D features 16 Zen 5 cores, supporting boost clock speeds of up to 5.7 GHz. This processor operates within a 170W TDP envelope and is distinguished by its massive 144MB of combined cache memory, including L2, L3, and AMD’s signature 3D V-Cache technology. This additional cache is expected to significantly improve performance in specific workloads, particularly gaming and latency-sensitive applications.

The Ryzen 9 9900X3D offers a slightly lower specification set, scaling back to 12 cores with a peak boost clock of 5.5 GHz. It features a total of 140MB cache and a reduced 120W TDP, making it a more power-efficient alternative while still leveraging the benefits of AMD’s vertical cache stacking technology.

The introduction of these chips completes AMD’s first-quarter 2025 desktop processor lineup, following the release of the standard Ryzen 9000 series and the eight-core Ryzen 7 9800X3D. AMD’s 3D V-Cache technology has historically shown substantial gaming performance benefits over traditional CPU architectures, and the same is expected from these new Zen 5-based models. While early leaks suggest strong performance potential, official benchmark reviews will be necessary to determine the real-world gains.

The Ryzen 9000X3D lineup is expected to compete directly with Intel’s Raptor Lake Refresh and the upcoming Arrow Lake processors. With pricing that aligns competitively against Intel’s high-end offerings, AMD aims to maintain its lead in gaming performance while offering strong multi-threaded capabilities for productivity workloads.

As the March 12 launch date approaches, AMD enthusiasts and PC builders will be looking forward to detailed third-party benchmarks to gauge the real-world impact of 3D V-Cache on Zen 5. The additional cache should provide a significant gaming uplift while also improving select productivity workloads, making these processors a compelling option for high-performance users.
