Keychron Q19 HE 8K Hall Effect Keyboard Arrives With Magnetic Switches and a CNC-Machined Case

Keychron has expanded its Hall effect keyboard lineup with the Q19 HE 8K, a compact keyboard that combines adjustable magnetic switches with a steampunk-inspired aluminium case. The new model builds on the platform used by the Q16 HE 8K and Carbon 60 HE, but features a different design with a patinated finish, decorative engravings, and themed keycaps. The Keychron Q19 HE 8K is available through the company’s online store for $254.99.

The keyboard uses Keychron Ultra-Fast Magnetic Lime switches, which are also found in the Q16 HE 8K and Carbon 60 HE. Its Hall effect technology allows users to adjust key actuation through the Keychron Launcher web app. The software also supports features such as SOCD, Dynamic Keystroke (DKS), Mod-Tap, and analogue input, giving users more control over keyboard behaviour in games and other applications.

Keychron has paired the switches with an FR4 plate, plate-mounted stabilizers, and PBT keycaps in a traditional Cherry profile. The dye-sublimated legends use a serif font to match the steampunk theme, while the Escape key features a compass-inspired accent. The CNC-machined 6063 aluminium case has a patinated finish, and the underside carries an etched Golden Compass pattern.

Measuring 115.3 × 303.3 mm, the Q19 HE 8K has a front height of 29.2 mm, including the keycaps, and a typing angle of 7 degrees. It weighs 1,488 grams despite its compact footprint. The keyboard also features south-facing per-key RGB lighting, which can be customized through the Launcher web app, alongside onboard macro support for shortcuts and productivity tasks.

The Q19 HE 8K supports an 8,000Hz polling rate, equivalent to a 0.125-millisecond polling interval. However, it uses a wired USB Type-C connection and does not include wireless connectivity. Keychron supplies both Windows and macOS modifier keycaps, and the keyboard is also compatible with Linux. At $254.99, the Q19 HE 8K combines high-speed input features with a distinctive steampunk design aimed at users looking for a premium compact Hall effect keyboard.
