Dareu Launches Ultra 68 Magnetic Keyboard with Switchable 68/75-Key Layouts

Dareu has started teasing its Ultra 68 gaming keyboard, introducing a modular design that lets users switch between 68-key and 75-key layouts. The upcoming keyboard combines interchangeable top-row accessories with an aluminum alloy chassis, an 8,000Hz polling rate, and 0.01mm Rapid Trigger precision, targeting gamers who want more control over their keyboard setup.

The Ultra 68 uses metal Pogo Pin contacts to connect its top-row module to the main keyboard body. This design allows users to replace the standard key module with alternative accessories, including a 335-LED dot-matrix screen. A touch-sensitive version also appears to be in development, although Dareu has yet to confirm the complete accessory lineup or explain all the available functions.

The keyboard features an all-aluminum alloy body and an integrated FR4 positioning plate. Its modular layout gives it a different approach from conventional gaming keyboards, where the number and arrangement of keys are generally fixed. Users could potentially choose a more compact configuration or add the extra keys available in the 75-key layout.

Dareu is also highlighting the Ultra 68’s gaming capabilities. The keyboard supports an 8,000Hz polling rate, allowing it to report input at intervals as short as 0.125 milliseconds under ideal conditions. Its advertised 0.01mm Rapid Trigger precision is designed to support highly responsive key activation and reset, which can be useful in competitive games that rely on rapid directional changes and repeated inputs.

Two switch options are planned: Luban magnetic switches and Kailh inductive switches. The Kailh inductive switch configuration reportedly includes an 8,000mAh battery, although Dareu has not yet provided battery-life estimates or detailed the differences between the two versions.

Dareu has not confirmed the Ultra 68’s launch date, pricing, or regional availability. Further details about the modular accessories and switch configurations are expected as its pre-launch campaign continues.
