Haimacloud is entering the handheld gaming market with the GEAR, an Android-based device that combines local gaming hardware with access to the company’s cloud gaming service. The new handheld pairs Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 platform with a 7-inch 144Hz OLED display, an 8000mAh battery, and a control system built around TMR and Hall effect components.
The Haimacloud GEAR runs Android 13 and comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Its 7-inch OLED panel has a 1920 x 1080 resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate, 2ms response time, and up to 800 nits of brightness. That combination gives the handheld a display designed for fast-paced games, where the higher refresh rate can provide smoother motion when games can take advantage of it.

Haimacloud has also focused on the controls. The GEAR uses a TMR joystick, Hall effect triggers, and mechanical micro-switches. It also includes six-axis motion sensing and a modular ABXY button layout. Wireless connectivity comes through Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1. The device weighs 450 grams, while an 8000mAh battery provides the power for gaming away from a charger. Active cooling is included to help manage temperatures during longer gaming sessions.
The cloud gaming side of the GEAR is equally important to the device. Haimacloud says its cloud gaming service uses servers equipped with an Intel Core i7-12700KF processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX graphics card described as being in the company’s “70” class. The service supports up to 1080p resolution at 144 FPS, although actual performance will depend on the game, network connection, and server conditions.

The Haimacloud GEAR is priced at NT$3,149 during the initial launch period. Buyers can also choose the hardware with a one-year Haimacloud cloud gaming VIP membership for NT$4,349. This gives the handheld a lower-cost entry point for users who already have access to compatible cloud gaming services while offering a membership option for those who want to use Haimacloud’s own platform.
The use of the Snapdragon 865 means the GEAR is not competing with the latest flagship mobile chipsets on raw local performance. Instead, Haimacloud appears to be positioning the device around its combination of Android gaming, dedicated handheld controls, a fast OLED panel, and cloud gaming. The 144Hz screen and 8000mAh battery also make it an interesting option for players looking for a handheld designed around both local and streamed games.
