Beelink is expanding its EQR5 mini PC lineup with a cheaper configuration built around AMD’s Ryzen 5 5500U, targeting users who want a compact desktop for everyday office work without dealing with a large chassis or noisy cooling system. The new Min PC also keeps several upgrade options, including two RAM slots and two PCIe 3.0 SSD slots.
The barebone Beelink EQR5, which ships without memory or storage, is priced at 1,379 yuan, equivalent to around $193. A configuration with 16GB of DDR4 memory and a 500GB SSD costs 3,029 yuan, or approximately $424. The significant price difference makes the barebone version particularly interesting for users who already have compatible memory and storage.

The EQR5 is built around AMD’s Ryzen 5 5500U, a 6-core, 12-thread mobile processor that can handle typical office workloads, web browsing, media playback, and everyday multitasking. Beelink is also putting considerable emphasis on acoustic performance, claiming the system produces only 32dB of noise under full load. The company compares this with a typical library environment at around 40dB, while a blue-switch mechanical keyboard can reach roughly 57dB.

The compact system includes an integrated 85W power supply, removing the need for a separate external power brick. It also features two SO-DIMM DDR4 slots supporting up to 64GB of memory. Storage expansion is handled by two M.2 2280 PCIe 3.0 x4 slots, with support for up to 8TB of total storage.

Beelink uses its MSC2.0 thermal management system to keep temperatures under control. Air enters through the bottom of the chassis and is circulated through the system to remove heat from the CPU, memory, and SSDs. The cooling hardware combines heat pipes, heatsinks, and a low-noise fan, while an additional SSD cooler helps manage storage temperatures.

Wireless connectivity comes from an Intel AX200 card with Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2. The front I/O includes a 10Gbps USB-A port, 3.5mm audio jack, and a 10Gbps USB-C port. Around the back, there are two additional 10Gbps USB-A ports, one USB 2.0 port, two HDMI outputs supporting up to 4K at 60Hz, and two 1Gbps Ethernet ports.

For a small office PC, the combination of dual Gigabit Ethernet, expandable memory, dual NVMe slots, and four USB-A ports gives the EQR5 more flexibility than its compact size suggests. The Ryzen 5 5500U is not a new processor, but the combination of a low-noise design and extensive upgrade support makes this version of the EQR5 an option for users who prioritize a quiet desktop setup over newer CPU architecture.
