Razer is pushing its compact gaming keyboard lineup further with the Huntsman V3 Pro Mini 8KHz, a new 60% keyboard that combines analog optical switches with an 8000 Hz polling rate and a wider set of input controls. The new model is aimed at competitive players who want a small keyboard that leaves more desk space for mouse movement while still offering the adjustment options of a larger esports-focused board.

At the center of the Huntsman V3 Pro Mini 8KHz are Razer Analog Optical Switches Gen-2, which support Rapid Trigger and adjustable actuation from 0.1 mm to 4.0 mm. Players can change the actuation point depending on the game and their preferred key response, while Rapid Trigger allows keys to register repeated inputs with less movement between presses. Razer rates the switches for up to 100 million keystrokes.
Razer says the switches are factory calibrated for 0.1 mm precision and are approximately 2.5 times more accurate than its closest competitor. Each switch is individually lubricated and installed with a thick foam dampening layer underneath, with the company targeting a smoother keystroke and a quieter typing sound.

The other major feature is true 8000 Hz HyperPolling. Razer claims the keyboard reaches 0.48 ms latency, with the polling rate operating eight times faster than the 1000 Hz rate commonly used as an industry reference for gaming peripherals. While the difference will matter most in competitive games and fast input scenarios, the higher polling rate is paired with the keyboard’s analog input features rather than being offered as a standalone upgrade.
The Huntsman V3 Pro Mini 8KHz also gets Razer’s full Advanced Input Control suite. This includes Razer Snap Flex, Snap Tap, Dynamic Keystroke, and Dual-Keypress Priority. These features provide additional ways to configure how movement and simultaneous key presses are handled, giving players more control over keyboard inputs during competitive play.

The 60% layout keeps the keyboard small by removing the dedicated function, navigation, and arrow-key sections found on larger keyboards. Razer has added a workaround for navigation by allowing modifier keys to operate as four-way arrow keys when tapped. The compact design also gives players more space to position a mouse, which can be useful for low-sensitivity aiming setups.
The keyboard uses a 5052 aluminium alloy top case with a brushed metal finish, while textured doubleshot PBT keycaps are designed to resist shine and fading. These materials also target the repeated use associated with competitive gaming and frequent transportation to LAN events or tournaments.

Users can make several changes directly from the keyboard. Actuation height and Rapid Trigger sensitivity can be adjusted using the number row, and up to six custom profiles can be stored onboard. This means players can switch between saved configurations without installing software on every PC.
Razer is also supporting Synapse Web, allowing configuration through a browser instead of requiring a local software installation. Users can adjust keyboard actuation and Razer Chroma RGB Quick Effects, then save settings to onboard profiles for use across different systems.

With the Huntsman V3 Pro Mini 8KHz, Razer is bringing its latest input features to a smaller 60% design while adding the company’s highest polling rate for the Huntsman V3 Pro Mini series. The combination of Analog Optical Switches Gen-2, Rapid Trigger, adjustable actuation, 8000 Hz HyperPolling, and onboard profiles gives the keyboard a feature set aimed squarely at competitive gaming.
