SteelSeries Launches Apex Pro Gen 3 LTD Keyboards With Hall Effect Gen 3 Sensors and Rapid Trigger

SteelSeries is marking its 25th anniversary with two new limited-edition gaming keyboards, and the Apex Pro Gen 3 LTD models bring the company’s latest Hall Effect technology to its premium lineup. The Apex Pro Gen 3 Cyber and Apex Pro Gen 3 Steel are designed for players who want adjustable actuation, rapid input features, and game-specific keyboard profiles without moving away from the Apex Pro ecosystem.

The new keyboards use OmniPoint 3.0 switches and a new Hall Effect Gen 3 sensor. SteelSeries is also introducing different spring actuation weights with its Speed and Control switch options, giving players more choice over how each key feels and responds during gameplay.

The Apex Pro Gen 3 LTD models retain SteelSeries’ Triple Threat technology, which combines Rapid Trigger, Rapid Tap, and Protection Mode. Rapid Trigger is designed to register repeated inputs with minimal key travel, while Rapid Tap is intended to help with quick directional changes in games where movement precision matters. Protection Mode can be used to reduce unwanted key presses during gameplay.

Software also plays a major role in the new keyboards. SteelSeries has added GG QuickSet, which provides access to the keyboard’s advanced settings through game-specific profiles. Players can configure Rapid Trigger, Rapid Tap, Protection Mode, and per-key actuation settings for individual games and have those configurations applied automatically.

The addition of Hall Effect sensing also allows the keyboard to track key movement without relying on traditional mechanical contact points. Combined with adjustable actuation, this gives users more control over how far a key needs to travel before an input is registered.

The new Apex Pro Gen 3 LTD models are part of SteelSeries’ 25th anniversary lineup and continue the company’s focus on keyboards aimed at competitive gaming. Rather than introducing a completely different platform, the Cyber and Steel editions extend the existing Apex Pro Gen 3 hardware and software feature set with new switch and sensor technology.

The SteelSeries Apex Pro Gen 3 Cyber and Apex Pro Gen 3 Steel became available on September 22 through SteelSeries.com and select retailers worldwide. Both keyboards have an MSRP of $239.99, £239.99, or €249.99.
