Razer Launches Tartarus V2 Pro With 8,000 Hz HyperPolling and Analog Optical Switches

Razer is expanding its dedicated gaming keypad lineup with the Tartarus V2 Pro, a new model aimed at players who need more inputs, adjustable key response, and analog controls without using a traditional keyboard. The new keypad combines Razer’s Analog Optical Switch Gen-2 technology with 8000 Hz HyperPolling, 31 programmable controls, a TMR thumbstick, and an adjustable wrist rest.

For MMO players managing large ability bars and macros, or FPS players looking for additional movement and input options, the Tartarus V2 Pro puts a large number of controls within reach of one hand. Razer has also designed the keypad around customization, allowing players to change actuation settings, Rapid Trigger behavior, key assignments, profiles, and other controls through its software.

The biggest hardware change comes from Razer’s Analog Optical Switch Gen-2 technology. The switches provide an adjustable actuation range from 0.1 mm to 4.0 mm, giving users control over how far a key needs to be pressed before registering an input. Rapid Trigger sensitivity can also be adjusted down to 0.1 mm for players who want faster repeated key presses.

Razer says each switch is individually lubricated and positioned over a dense foam layer. The switches are rated for up to 100 million keystrokes, while the keypad uses textured doubleshot PBT keycaps designed for long-term use.

The Tartarus V2 Pro also includes a full-sized anti-drift TMR thumbstick. The analog stick is designed to provide smoother movement than a conventional directional pad and can be used for character movement, radial menus, or other in-game functions. Three dedicated buttons are positioned around the thumbstick, giving players additional controls without requiring them to move their hand away from the keypad.

The ergonomic design is another part of the new keypad. Its wrist rest can slide out and rotate left or right, allowing users to adjust the position based on how they naturally place their hand. This is particularly useful during longer gaming sessions, where a fixed wrist-rest position may not work equally well for every player.

Razer is also targeting competitive players with 8000 Hz HyperPolling. The company says the polling rate is eight times higher than the commonly used 1000 Hz standard, allowing the keypad to report inputs more frequently to the PC.

The Tartarus V2 Pro supports Razer’s Advanced Input Control features, including Snap Tap, Snap Flex and Dynamic Keystroke. These features provide additional ways to configure how keyboard inputs behave in games, particularly for players who want more control over movement and repeated key presses.

Customization extends to profiles and keymaps as well. Through Razer Synapse, users can configure up to 24 keymaps across three onboard profiles for different games and genres. The keypad also has an onboard LED array that allows actuation and Rapid Trigger settings to be adjusted directly on the device, reducing the need to open the software for every change.

Razer is positioning the Tartarus V2 Pro as a dedicated control platform for MMOs, FPS games, and other genres where additional programmable inputs can be useful. Unlike a conventional gaming keyboard, the keypad concentrates its controls around a single hand while retaining an analog thumbstick for movement.

The Razer Tartarus V2 Pro is available now from Razer.com, RazerStores, and select retailers worldwide. It is priced at $199.99 in the US, £199.99 in the UK, and €219.99 in Europe.
