HKC Teases HunterString T1 Controller With Adjustable Joystick Damping and Four Rear Buttons

HKC has teased a new gaming controller, the HunterString T1, on Weibo, giving players a first look at a gamepad focused on adjustable controls, additional buttons, and wireless charging. While the company has not announced the controller’s price or release date yet, the early details show that HKC is targeting players who want more control over how their gamepad feels and responds.

The HunterString T1 comes with a rotary force joystick that lets users adjust the analog stick’s damping by turning the joystick cap. HKC says the adjustment is stepless, meaning players can fine-tune the resistance instead of being limited to a few preset levels. This could be useful for switching between games that require quick stick movements and titles where more controlled input is preferred.

The triggers support linear and fast modes, giving users two different input options depending on the type of game. Racing games can benefit from linear trigger input, while the fast mode could be more suitable for shooters and other games where quick activation is important.

HKC is also using touch switches for the controller, with a claimed lifespan of up to 5 million cycles. The HunterString T1 features an asymmetrical vibration system that the company says can reproduce in-game scene vibrations with greater accuracy.

Another part of the design is located on the rear, where HKC has added four customizable expansion buttons. These can give players extra inputs without requiring them to move their thumbs away from the analog sticks, which can be useful for games with multiple commands.

The controller is shown in green and purple finishes and features a magnetic, replaceable front panel cover. HKC is also promoting a true wireless charging dock, allowing the controller to be placed on the dock for charging rather than relying on a cable each time.
