Ghost of Yōtei is getting a major expansion just in time for its first anniversary, with Sucker Punch Productions preparing a new Complete Edition that adds a story expansion, a new combat mode, and the game’s existing multiplayer content. The Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition is scheduled to launch on October 1 for PS5, giving new players and existing owners another reason to return to Atsu’s journey.
The Complete Edition will include the base game, the four-player online Legends multiplayer mode, and two new additions: Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted. The new content will arrive as part of the anniversary update, alongside additional Watanabe Mode tracks, Photo Mode stamps, and accessibility options.
The biggest addition for players following the story will be Echoes of Sekigahara. The expansion will move between present-day Ezo and flashbacks from Atsu’s past, while introducing a new character named Nagato. It will also revisit the Battle of Sekigahara, adding another chapter to the game’s narrative rather than simply extending the existing campaign with more side content.
For players looking for more combat-focused content, Most Wanted will introduce a roguelike-inspired survival mode. The mode is built around bounty-driven runs, with unlockable characters and combat perks providing additional ways to approach each run. Its repeatable structure should give players something to return to after finishing the main story and exploring the existing world.
The pricing also gives current players a cheaper way to access the new content. The Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition will cost $69.99, while existing owners can purchase the Complete Edition Upgrade for $14.99. The upgrade option means players who already own the game do not need to buy the full edition again.
Sucker Punch is also offering a pre-order incentive. Anyone who purchases or pre-orders Ghost of Yōtei by September 30 will receive the Sakai Armor when the update arrives. The armor references Ghost of Tsushima, making it a fitting addition for players who followed Sucker Punch’s previous samurai adventure.
