Rockstar Games has officially announced that Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA VI) will receive a new extended presentation on August 27, giving fans their first major look at the game since the second trailer was released in 2025. The announcement follows weeks of speculation that Rockstar was preparing another marketing event ahead of the game’s scheduled launch later this year.
Rockstar confirmed that the extended look will first stream on Netflix at 3:00 PM Eastern Time. The same presentation will then become available on Rockstar’s official YouTube channel and website at 9:00 PM Eastern Time, giving Netflix a six-hour exclusive window.
The announcement marks the beginning of another major phase in Rockstar’s marketing campaign for GTA VI as the game moves closer to its November release.
Rockstar first announced the next Grand Theft Auto game on November 8, 2023, confirming that its debut trailer would be released in early December as part of the studio’s 25th anniversary celebration.
When Trailer 1 arrived, it officially introduced:

Just four days later, Rockstar released Trailer 2, offering a closer look at the game’s environments, characters, vehicles, and several new locations throughout Leonida. The official website also received a major update with approximately 70 new screenshots and expanded information about the game’s world.
Several months later, on November 6, 2025, Rockstar announced another delay, moving the release date once again to November 19, 2026. The developer said the additional months would allow the team to complete the game with the level of polish players expect from a Grand Theft Auto title.
Unlike previous trailers that launched simultaneously across Rockstar’s own platforms, the August 27 presentation introduces a different approach by giving Netflix the first public broadcast.
The move reflects the growing partnership between entertainment and gaming platforms while also expanding GTA VI’s reach beyond traditional audiences. After the Netflix premiere, the presentation will become available globally through Rockstar’s YouTube channel and official website later the same day.
