Mangmi has officially confirmed the main hardware specifications of its upcoming Air Y handheld gaming lineup through its official X account. The company revealed that the series will include two different models, with the standard Air Y powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 662 processor, while the Air Y Pro will feature the more powerful Snapdragon 865. The announcement also highlights several design differences between the two devices, giving gamers a better idea of what to expect before the handhelds officially launch.
The standard Mangmi Air Y is built around the Snapdragon 662, an octa-core processor introduced in early 2020. Manufactured using an 11nm process, the chipset combines four Kryo 260 performance cores based on the Cortex-A73 architecture running at up to 2.0GHz with four Cortex-A53 efficiency cores clocked at 1.8GHz. It also includes the Adreno 610 GPU and supports UFS 2.1 storage alongside LPDDR3 and LPDDR4X memory. The processor has previously appeared in smartphones such as the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 4G and Huawei nova 8i, offering reliable performance for everyday applications and lighter gaming workloads.
The Air Y Pro receives a much larger performance upgrade by using Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 platform. Released in late 2019, the flagship chipset is built on a 7nm manufacturing process and features Qualcomm’s Kryo 585 CPU with a maximum clock speed of 2.84GHz. Graphics processing is handled by the Adreno 650 GPU, which delivers significantly higher gaming performance compared to the Adreno 610 found in the standard model.
