ASUS ROG has announced the new ROG Gjallar, a premium gaming soundbar built for gamers who want immersive audio, clear voice communication, and support for multiple gaming platforms. The new soundbar combines a 2.1.2-channel Dolby Atmos speaker system with a wireless subwoofer and a dedicated audio control hub, offering a complete audio solution for PC, console, and entertainment setups.
The ROG Gjallar features left and right full-range speakers, dedicated tweeters, upward-firing channels, and a 6.5-inch wireless subwoofer rated at 65W. Together, they create a three-dimensional audio experience designed to improve positional sound in games while also delivering richer audio for movies and music. ASUS says the wireless subwoofer uses a 5 GHz connection to provide stable, low-latency performance while allowing flexible placement around a desk or entertainment area.
A dedicated audio control hub sits alongside the soundbar, giving users quick access to playback controls, EQ presets, input selection, and RGB lighting through an integrated LCD display. Users can switch between gaming, music, and movie sound profiles without opening software on their PC.
The control hub also houses built-in microphones that use Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC) technology to reduce echoes from the speakers during voice chat. ASUS has also added an AI-powered beamforming algorithm that focuses on the user’s voice while helping reduce background noise generated by PC cooling fans and other nearby sounds.
The soundbar supports a wide range of connection options, making it compatible with different devices without requiring additional adapters. Users can connect the ROG Gjallar to desktop PCs, laptops, Macs, smartphones, and major gaming consoles, including PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch. HDMI 2.1 with eARC support enables up to 4K 120 Hz pass-through while maintaining high-quality audio transmission.
To make desktop setups cleaner, ASUS has integrated two USB Type-A ports directly into the side of the soundbar. These ports can be used for wireless dongles, external storage devices, and other USB accessories, reducing cable clutter around the desk.
Customization is available through ASUS Gear Link, which works through both a web-based interface and a mobile app. Users can adjust equalizer settings, microphone options, RGB lighting, and other audio preferences to create profiles for different games or entertainment content.
The ROG Gjallar also supports ASUS Aura RGB lighting, offering up to 16.8 million colors and multiple preset lighting effects for users who want to match the soundbar with other compatible ROG peripherals.
