Iqunix Announces Shine-Through Keycaps for MQ80 and Magi Low-Profile Keyboards

Shine-through keycaps have been a frequent topic among mechanical keyboard enthusiasts, particularly for mid-range and low-profile keyboards. Users of Iqunix’s MQ80 and Magi series have often requested keycaps that allow better lighting visibility, an option not available at the launch of these keyboards.

Iqunix has now confirmed plans to produce shine-through keycaps for both the MQ80 and Magi low-profile models. In a post on r/Iqunix, the brand stated that production will only proceed if at least 1,000 units are pre-ordered. This approach is intended to ensure that small-batch production is feasible while meeting community demand.

The keycaps are designed to match the aluminum keyboard cases and maintain full compatibility with Kailh Choc V2 low-profile switches and north-facing lighting. While images of the keycaps on Magi keyboards have not been shared yet, the brand indicated there will likely be three color options to account for the different tones of the MQ80 and Magi keyboards.

Made from PBT material, the new keycaps will follow the same uniform height and spherical top profile as the original MQ80 and Magi keycaps. This ensures users retain the familiar feel of their keyboards while gaining improved lighting effects.

Enthusiasts interested in the new keycaps can participate in the community interest check to reserve units, helping Iqunix move forward with production. The announcement reflects growing attention to community feedback in the low-profile mechanical keyboard segment.
