Colorful Technology has expanded its motherboard lineup with the launch of two new models designed for Intel’s latest desktop platform. The iGame Z890 ULTRA-S W and iGame Z890M ULTRA Z are built to support the Intel Core Ultra 200S Plus Series processors, targeting gamers, content creators, and enthusiasts looking for modern connectivity, high-speed memory compatibility, and distinctive system aesthetics.

Both motherboards follow the ULTRA Series design direction, featuring a white color scheme intended to match other components in the iGame ULTRA W lineup, including graphics cards. Colorful continues to position its ULTRA series as an option for users building coordinated systems with a consistent visual theme, while also offering updated hardware capabilities to meet current performance requirements.
The iGame Z890 ULTRA-S W maintains the familiar styling seen in previous ULTRA models, combining a white PCB with layered design elements and a customizable ARGB nameplate that allows lighting adjustments. The board includes an updated cooling layout that integrates a heat pipe and optimized airflow channel structure. These changes aim to improve thermal performance while preserving the clean visual layout associated with the series. Colorful also adds redesigned quick-release mechanisms for the graphics card slot and M.2 heatsinks, simplifying installation and reducing the time required for upgrades or maintenance.

Power delivery is handled through a 20+1+1+1 phase VRM configuration designed to support high-performance desktop processors such as the Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus. The motherboard supports DDR5 memory speeds reaching 9600+ MHz and capacities up to 256 GB, allowing it to accommodate memory-intensive workloads, including gaming, content production, and local AI processing tasks. These specifications indicate that the ULTRA-S W is positioned for users building high-end systems that require both speed and stability.
Alongside the ATX model, Colorful has also introduced the iGame Z890M ULTRA Z, which brings a different design approach focused on cable management and compact system layouts. The Z890M ULTRA Z adopts a zero-cable concept that replaces the traditional 24-pin motherboard connector and dual 8-pin CPU connectors with a direct-plug 50-pin interface. This design allows a compatible power supply to connect directly to the motherboard using gold finger contacts, removing visible cables and improving airflow inside the chassis.

The zero-cable implementation also extends to other connectors. Frequently used headers, including USB, front panel, and audio connections, are consolidated into a single rear interface designed to reduce clutter and simplify assembly. This approach reflects a broader trend toward hidden connectors and cleaner internal layouts, particularly in compact PC builds.
Despite its micro-ATX form factor, the iGame Z890M ULTRA Z offers competitive specifications. It features a 14+1+1+1 phase power design using 60A DrMOS components and supports up to 192 GB of DDR5 memory across four slots, with up to 48 GB per DIMM. Storage expansion includes four M.2 slots and four SATA ports, with the primary M.2 slot supporting PCIe 5.0 x4 SSDs. Connectivity options on the rear panel include six USB Type-A ports and two USB Type-C ports, along with 2.5G Ethernet and integrated WiFi 7 networking for high-speed wired and wireless connections.
With the release of the iGame Z890 ULTRA-S W and Z890M ULTRA Z, Colorful continues to expand its offerings for Intel’s latest platform. The introduction of the zero-cable power layout on the Z890M ULTRA Z highlights ongoing experimentation in motherboard design, while the ULTRA-S W focuses on delivering a more traditional layout paired with updated power delivery and memory support. Both models reflect current demand for faster storage interfaces, improved connectivity standards, and simplified system assembly processes for modern PC builds.
