Xiaomi Confirms Xiaomi Tag Launch on February 28 With Find My and Google Find Hub Support

Xiaomi has confirmed that its Xiaomi Tag item tracker will be officially unveiled on February 28 in Barcelona, ending speculation after the device quietly appeared at several European retailers. While the tracker has already been listed by distributors and surfaced on Xiaomi’s official websites in the UK and France, the company has not formally introduced it until now.

The Xiaomi Tag will be announced alongside several other products, including the Xiaomi 17 series, Xiaomi Mi Pad 8 series, REDMI Buds 8 Pro, and the Xiaomi Ultra-Thin Magnetic Power Bank 5000mAh 15W. The launch is expected to highlight Xiaomi’s expanding ecosystem strategy, with the tracker positioned as a compact accessory designed to help users keep track of personal belongings such as keys, wallets, and bags.

According to official information, the Xiaomi Tag weighs approximately 10 grams and measures around 7.2 mm in thickness. The device features a plastic body and uses a CR2032 button battery, which Xiaomi claims can deliver up to one year of battery life under typical usage conditions. The tracker supports Bluetooth 5.4 and NFC connectivity, allowing pairing and communication with compatible smartphones.

Tech journalist Roland Quandt reported that the Xiaomi Tag will be compatible with both Apple Find My and Google Find My Hub services. This means users on iOS and Android devices will be able to track their items using their respective ecosystem apps. However, the current version does not include Ultra Wideband support, which enables more precise location tracking. Reports suggest that Xiaomi may release a UWB-enabled variant in the future, though no release window has been announced.

In France, Xiaomi has listed the tracker at €17.99 for a single unit and €59.99 for a four-pack. Dealer information indicates that the device is currently available in white and already in stock through selected retail channels ahead of the official launch event.

With cross-platform compatibility and competitive pricing, the Xiaomi Tag is set to enter the Bluetooth tracker segment as a budget-friendly alternative for users looking to integrate item tracking into their daily routine.
