The Sharge Disk Pro features a transparent chassis that provides a clear view of the internal layout, including the cooling fan and PCB. The build feels solid and well-finished, while the compact form factor makes it easy to carry or place alongside other devices. Its slim, rectangular shape with a cyberpunk-inspired exterior reflects the design language found across Sharge’s product line.

At just 11mm thick and weighing approximately 150g, the Disk Pro can fit in a pocket or attach directly to devices using the included magnetic backplate.

Several self-adhesive magnetic rings allow mounting on laptops, smartphones, and handheld consoles, including MagSafe and Qi2-compatible devices. This flexibility keeps the Disk Pro flush with the connected device, which is useful when space is limited or only a single port is available.

The integrated USB-C cable is short and reinforced, minimizing excess slack while maintaining reliable connections with laptops, tablets, or smartphones. While the compact design enhances portability, it limits expandability and repair options due to the sealed housing. A physical button on the SSD allows toggling storage, letting the device function purely as a hub if needed. The fan activates automatically, with a dedicated button to enable constant turbo mode when additional cooling is required.

The internal hub combines five active ports alongside the SSD: one HDMI 2.1 output, one USB-C port, one USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 port, and one USB-A 2.0 port, each managed independently to avoid bottlenecks. The HDMI output supports 8K at 30Hz or 4K at 144Hz, making it suitable for laptops, tablets, and gaming consoles that require simultaneous data access and video output. The USB-C port provides up to 100W power delivery input, while downstream ports and the SSD can output up to 80W, allowing devices to charge while maintaining full functionality.

The Sharge Disk Pro combines high-performance storage, active cooling, and versatile connectivity in a compact design. It uses 162-layer 3D TLC NAND flash, available in 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB capacities. The storage is permanently sealed within the chassis, protecting the fan-assisted cooling system that directs airflow over the SSD and controller. While the design does not allow user upgrades, it ensures stable performance during extended data transfers and reduces the risk of thermal throttling. The Disk Pro delivers sustained transfer speeds of up to 1,000 MB/s, supporting large file transfers, video editing, and gaming storage.

The chassis blends an aluminium frame with a transparent plastic shell, helping to manage heat while maintaining a clean design. The aluminium core channels heat away from the NAND and controller, supporting continuous workloads. Each model comes preformatted in exFAT, allowing compatibility with Windows, macOS, Android, and Linux systems. Integrated power management ensures the Disk Pro operates efficiently even on low-output ports, making it suitable for mobile workflows.

Sharge’s Dual-Mode, Intelligent Cooling provides reliable temperature control. In Turbo Mode, the SSD stays around 50°C during demanding transfers of up to 480GB. In Auto Mode, the fan adjusts between 7,000 and 10,000 RPM to keep temperatures under 50°C, even during continuous transfers exceeding 950GB.

Connectivity is designed for convenience and efficiency. The built-in USB-C cable provides a secure connection while reducing clutter. The device operates over USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10Gbps), supporting consistent transfer speeds of around 1,000 MB/s. A 100W USB Power Delivery pass-through allows the Disk Pro to power a laptop or smartphone while in use, with automatic current management between connected devices. A hardware toggle enables users to switch off the SSD when using it as a hub, helping preserve NAND lifespan and allowing flexible operation.

The Sharge Disk Pro was tested on a mini PC with a built-in USB4 port, demonstrating compatibility across PCs, mobile devices, and other USB-C-enabled hardware. On systems supporting USB 3.2 Gen2 (10Gbps), the SSD reaches its full read and write speeds, making it suitable for large file transfers, media storage, and daily use.

Small transfers start slower, but the drive stabilizes near 900MB/s for both read and write on 1MB–64MB blocks, confirming full utilization of a 10Gbps interface. Small block IOPS reached roughly 48K for writes and 27K for reads, with minor drops on larger blocks.

In the AS SSD Benchmark, sequential reads and writes measured 872MB/s and 860MB/s, respectively. Random 4K performance was 25MB/s read and 76MB/s write, improving to 213MB/s read and 246MB/s write in the 4K-64Thrd test. Access times were low at 0.053ms for reads and 0.100ms for writes. Copy tests recorded 349MB/s for ISO, 110MB/s for Program, and 275MB/s for Game workloads, indicating stable performance across different file types.

TxBENCH results using a 512MB file with 4KB alignment showed sequential Max (512K) Q32T1 at 829MB/s read and 940MB/s write. Random Max (512K) Q1T1 reached 729MB/s read and 828MB/s write. Small block 4K Q1T1 measured 27MB/s read, and 81MB/s write, improving to 213MB/s read, and 259MB/s write on 4K Q32T1. These results confirm reliable performance across different queue depths.

Anvil’s Storage Utilities showed balanced performance across sequential and random workloads. Sequential 4MB reads and writes were 862MB/s and 840MB/s, respectively. Random 4K reads and writes measured 26MB/s and 85MB/s, while 4K QD16 tests reached 171MB/s read and 264MB/s write. IOPS peaked at over 43K for reads and 67K for writes in heavier workloads, with overall scores around 4,800, reflecting consistent performance for file transfers, software installs, and everyday use.

Across all tests, the Sharge Disk Pro delivers steady speeds and responsive handling for large files, mixed workloads, and daily computing tasks, confirming its suitability as a reliable USB-C 10Gbps storage solution.

Real-World File Transfer Tests

In our real-world file transfer testing, the drive was used to copy multiple large game files to better reflect everyday workloads rather than relying only on synthetic benchmarks. Throughout the process, transfer speeds stayed consistent at around 650–660MB/s, even with several files queued at once and a total data size close to 20GB.

The performance graph remained stable with no noticeable drops, indicating reliable sustained throughput instead of short-lived burst speeds. In daily use, this means large folders, games, and media libraries can be moved efficiently, making the drive well-suited for backups, content creation, and general storage tasks where consistent performance matters more than peak figures.

Thermal Performance

In thermal testing, the drive shows consistent temperature behavior in both idle and active states. While idle, it stays around 24°C, indicating low power consumption and minimal heat. During continuous read and write operations, temperatures rise to about 42°C, which is safe for an external SSD of this class.

There are no sudden spikes or signs of thermal throttling, and performance remains steady over extended use. This level of thermal management makes the drive suitable for long file transfers and everyday tasks without overheating concerns.
