Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and SEGA have announced a free demo for Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties that will be available later today on PC and consoles. The PC demo launches first at 7 AM Pacific Time, followed by console versions for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S and X, and Nintendo Switch 2 at 9 PM Pacific Time.
The demo will not carry over save data to the full game, giving players a chance to try the experience before purchase. In Yakuza Kiwami 3, players can explore Ryukyu in Okinawa as Kazuma Kiryu, switching between the Kiwami combat style and the weapon-based Ryukyu style. Side activities such as karaoke, sub-stories, and outfit customisation are also included.
In Dark Ties, players follow Yoshitaka Mine through Kamurocho, mastering shoot-boxing combat while experiencing a variety of side activities. The story acts as a prequel, showing Mine’s journey into the Yakuza world and his search for bonds through dramatic encounters and combat challenges.
Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties were first announced at the RGG Summit 2025. The Kiwami 3 portion is a remake of the 2009 PlayStation 3 release with updated gameplay and visuals. The full game will release on February 12, 2026, with pre-orders currently open. Pre-order bonuses include Legendary Lad: Ichiban Kasuga, adding the fan-favorite character Ichiban Kasuga to the Ryukyu Gal Gang.
The Steam store page has also been updated with the official PC system requirements ahead of the demo launch.
