OneXPlayer Unveils 14-Inch Super X Laptop/Tablet Hybrid with AMD Ryzen and Optional Liquid Cooling

OneXPlayer has introduced its newest device, the Super X, a 14-inch hybrid that functions as both a laptop and a tablet. The device is equipped with AMD’s Ryzen AI Max+ 395 APU, featuring 16 cores and 32 threads with boost speeds up to 5.1 GHz. It also pairs with the Radeon 8060S GPU, offering graphics performance similar to a desktop-class RTX 4060, all within a compact 14-inch form factor.

The Super X supports an optional external liquid cooling unit, the Frost Bay. When attached, the APU’s configurable thermal design power (cTDP) rises from 45 W to 120 W, enabling the device to maintain higher clock speeds during demanding workloads while keeping temperatures under control. Its hybrid design allows efficient operation in both laptop and tablet modes, making it adaptable for a variety of use cases.

Memory and storage options are extensive. The Super X supports up to 128 GB of RAM, with 96 GB configurable for GPU use, allowing large AI models to run locally. Storage options include an M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD, along with support for BiWin Mini SSDs for an additional 2 TB of storage and a microSD expansion slot. This combination of memory and storage makes the Super X suitable for gaming, content creation, and professional workloads.

The display is another notable aspect of the Super X. It features a 14-inch panel with a 2880×1800 resolution, 16:10 aspect ratio, and a variable refresh rate ranging from 48 Hz to 120 Hz. The panel supports HDR and offers a contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1, along with 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity. These features are intended to provide precise input and accurate visuals for creative tasks such as digital drawing, photo editing, and video production.

Powering the system is an 85.58 Wh / 22,000 mAh battery. According to OneXPlayer’s internal tests, the battery can deliver up to 12.2 hours of video playback and 8.2 hours of online streaming. While these numbers provide a general idea of battery performance, they are yet to be verified through third-party testing.

The Super X is currently available as a placeholder on OneXPlayer’s official Kickstarter campaign, with detailed pricing and release dates not yet disclosed. The Frost Bay liquid cooling unit is sold separately, offering additional thermal performance for demanding workloads.

With the Super X, OneXPlayer continues to explore the integration of high-performance components in a portable, hybrid design. Its combination of AMD Ryzen processing, Radeon graphics, and optional liquid cooling positions the device as a versatile solution for users seeking desktop-level power in a compact, convertible form factor.
