Ajazz has launched the MK87 Prism Edition, a new mechanical keyboard that brings a prism-style display to the compact 80% form factor. Released on November 18, the keyboard aims to blend visual elements with a practical layout, offering users a mix of design and utility in everyday use.
The MK87 Prism Edition features an 87-key arrangement that preserves essential inputs while keeping the footprint more compact than a full-size layout. At the top right of the chassis sits a 1.33-inch prism screen, a signature element of this edition. It delivers system data, lighting presets, and subtle animations, giving the keyboard an extra visual touch without disrupting the familiar functional layout.
Ajazz builds this model with a gasket pad mounting structure, which is paired with a 1.2mm single-key slotted PCB. This approach aims to improve typing feel by reducing vibration and helping the keys deliver a consistent response. Users can switch mechanical switches freely due to the hot-swappable design, allowing both newcomers and experienced builders to adjust the keyboard to their preferences. RGB lighting is supported across 16 million colors, and the spacebar includes nine LEDs to create a more even lighting effect. Inside the case, the keyboard uses a four-layer filling along with a horizontally slotted PC positioning plate, which helps moderate typing noise and improve stability.
Switches play an important role in mechanical keyboards, and the MK87 Prism Edition uses the Ajazz Lychee V2 linear switches. These switches come with an actuation point of 2.0±0.4mm, total travel of 3.6±0.2mm, actuation force of 42±8gf, and bottom-out force of 52±8gf. This configuration aims to offer a smooth key press suitable for general work and gaming. The keycaps follow a color theme inspired by the periodic table, giving the keyboard a distinct appearance when combined with the lighting effects and prism display.
Connectivity is supported through tri-mode options, including wired USB, Bluetooth, and 2.4GHz wireless. This allows the keyboard to be used across different devices, from desktop PCs to portable setups. Ajazz positions the MK87 Prism Edition as a keyboard built for users who prefer a compact layout with customization features, modern connectivity, and a unique visual identity through the prism screen.
With its combination of structural design, switch performance, and display integration, the MK87 Prism Edition adds a new variation to Ajazz’s keyboard lineup and enters the market as a feature-rich option for mechanical keyboard users.
