TeamGroup has released the T-Force Z54E M.2 NVMe Gen 5 SSD, built around the new Phison E28 controller. Manufactured on TSMC’s 6 nm process, the E28 controller brings improved efficiency and reduced heat output compared to the older E26 series, addressing the thermal concerns often seen in PCIe Gen 5 drives.
The T-Force Z54E connects through a PCIe 5.0 x4 interface and delivers sequential read speeds of up to 14,900 MB/s across all capacities. Write speeds vary by model, with the 2 TB and 4 TB versions reaching up to 14,000 MB/s, and the 1 TB version up to 13,700 MB/s. These performance levels place the drive among the faster options currently available in the Gen 5 NVMe segment

The drive is available in 1 TB, 2 TB, and 4 TB capacities. Each model comes as a bare drive with a thin graphene heat spreader rather than an integrated heatsink. TeamGroup recommends using the heatsinks that come with most modern motherboards for better thermal control.
Endurance ratings are listed at 600 TBW for the 1 TB model, 1200 TBW for the 2 TB model, and 2400 TBW for the 4 TB version. These figures indicate durability suitable for gaming, content creation, and everyday workloads. Random access performance figures were not shared.

TeamGroup has not yet provided pricing details or an official release date for the T-Force Z54E series. With the adoption of the new Phison E28 controller, more SSDs based on this design are expected to enter the market later this year.
