Colorful has announced the CVN X870E ARK FROZEN V14, its first AMD X870E chipset motherboard to appear on the company’s official website. This launch expands Colorful’s motherboard portfolio and brings a new addition to the high-performance segment aimed at users planning AMD Ryzen 9000 series builds. It is also the second known Colorful motherboard to use the X870E chipset.
The CVN X870E ARK FROZEN V14 follows an ATX layout and comes with a white PCB, continuing the company’s design approach seen in its ARK FROZEN series. It features the CVN “Aries” frost cooling armor, which is designed to improve overall heat dissipation. The cooling solution covers key components using full-size condenser plates and a metal backplate for structural reinforcement and temperature management.
Power delivery on this model includes a 16+2+1 phase VRM setup with 80A DrMOS, ensuring steady voltage regulation for multi-core CPUs under load. The board also includes dual 8-pin EPS connectors for CPU power delivery, which helps maintain stability during overclocking. For DIY users, it provides diagnostic LED status indicators for troubleshooting and a button-type quick release on the main PCIe slot, simplifying GPU installation or replacement.
Storage options are extensive, with five M.2 NVMe slots in total. Three of these slots support PCIe 5.0×4 for the latest high-speed SSDs, while two additional M.2 slots use PCIe 4.0×4 lanes from the chipset. The motherboard also includes four SATA III ports for traditional storage devices.

The board is equipped with a Realtek RTL8126-CG 5GbE LAN controller for wired networking and a MediaTek MT7925 wireless module that supports Wi-Fi 7 (160MHz) and Bluetooth 5.4. Memory support includes four DDR5 UDIMM slots (2DPC configuration), capable of handling speeds up to 8200 MT/s when overclocked.
For expansion, the motherboard includes one PCIe 5.0×16 slot connected directly to the CPU, which reduces to ×8 when multiple M.2 drives are in use. There is also a PCIe 4.0×4 slot available through the chipset, offering more flexibility for add-on cards.
