MSI’s latest MAG GLS power supply lineup has achieved a new milestone in performance and efficiency. The series, which launched earlier this year, was initially certified as 80 Plus Gold and received a Gold efficiency rating from Cybenetics. However, following a detailed evaluation, Cybenetics has now upgraded the entire MAG GLS series to Platinum certification, indicating higher energy efficiency than originally rated.
The MAG GLS family is designed for mainstream PC builders seeking reliable power delivery with modern standards such as ATX 3.1, PCIe 5.1, and 12V-2×6 connector support. These updates ensure compatibility with the latest GPUs and motherboards, meeting the growing power demands of next-generation systems. The lineup includes 1000W, 850W, 750W, and 650W models, each featuring a fully modular design to simplify cable management and improve system airflow.

According to Cybenetics’ testing standards, a PSU must meet several key requirements to earn the Platinum efficiency rating. These include an overall efficiency between 89% and 91%, a power factor of at least 0.975, 5VSB efficiency above 76%, and vampire power consumption below 0.16W. In contrast, Gold-rated units achieve between 87% and 89% efficiency with a slightly lower power factor threshold of 0.970. The new results confirm that MSI’s MAG GLS models operate more efficiently across different power loads while consuming less standby energy.
The “S” in the GLS series is believed to represent “Silent,” as the PSUs are engineered for lower noise levels under heavy loads. MSI has refined fan profiles and improved internal cooling to minimize acoustic output while maintaining consistent voltage stability.
At present, Cybenetics’ highest certification level, Diamond, has no listed PSUs. MSI’s product catalog now includes one Titanium-certified model — the MEG Ai1600T PCIe5 — alongside ten Platinum and eleven Gold-rated PSUs. The new MAG GLS lineup strengthens MSI’s position in the high-efficiency PSU segment, offering reliable performance for a wide range of system builds.

Pricing for the MAG GLS series remains competitive given the new certification. The A1000GLS is priced at $189.99 USD, the A850GLS at $149.99 USD, the A750GLS at $129.99 USD, and the A650GLS at $89.99 USD. Each PSU comes with a 10-year warranty, ensuring long-term reliability and confidence for builders.
The Cybenetics upgrade highlights MSI’s continued effort to improve its power supply lineup, delivering units that meet modern standards while maintaining reasonable pricing. With Platinum efficiency, lower noise levels, and full support for the latest ATX and PCIe specifications, the MAG GLS series stands as a dependable choice for users building efficient and future-ready systems.
