Wee Beastie Introduces Compact Fishtank Mini PC with RTX 4070 MXM GPU

A team of engineers in China, operating under the name Wee Beastie, has developed a compact mini PC that integrates a desktop-class NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 using the MXM form factor. The system, called the Fishtank Gaming & AI PC, combines a small 4.75-liter chassis with components typically found in full-sized desktops.

The project was launched on Kickstarter this month and has already met its funding target. According to the creators, production will begin in December 2025, with another round scheduled for February 2026, and shipments planned to start in March 2026.

Traditional mini PCs often depend on processor-integrated graphics due to space limitations, but Wee Beastie has designed a custom PCB that allows the RTX 4070 GPU die to be repackaged as an MXM module. This approach reduces the size requirement while retaining desktop-level graphics performance.

The system supports up to 466 AI TOPS through the RTX 4070’s Tensor cores, enabling acceleration for modern AI workloads such as large language models and vision models. This makes the Fishtank suitable not only for gaming and content creation but also for AI-driven applications.

The Fishtank will be available with two processor options: Intel Core i7-13700H or Intel Core Ultra 7 255H. Both configurations pair with the RTX 4070 and offer support for up to 128 GB of DDR5 memory and 16 TB of SSD storage. Connectivity includes WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4, ensuring compatibility with the latest networking standards.

Pricing for the Fishtank starts at $699 for the Core i7-13700H model and $899 for the Core Ultra 7 255H version. Wee Beastie highlights the system’s flexibility and upgrade potential, in contrast to Ryzen AI Max+ 395-based mini PCs, which typically cost between $1500 and $2000 and often use soldered memory that limits expandability.

While Ryzen AI Max+ 395 systems may retain advantages in intensive CPU workloads, the Fishtank positions itself as a more affordable and versatile option for users who need strong GPU performance in a compact form factor.
