Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. has announced the Snapdragon X2 Elite Extreme and Snapdragon X2 Elite, two new premium platforms in the Snapdragon X Series portfolio. The processors are designed to improve performance, extend battery life, and support advanced on-device AI workloads in Windows PCs.
Snapdragon X2 Elite Extreme for High-Performance Computing
The Snapdragon X2 Elite Extreme is aimed at professional use cases requiring high computing power. It integrates the 3rd Generation Qualcomm Oryon CPU, delivering up to 75% higher CPU performance at the same power level when compared to competing solutions.

For graphics, the platform introduces a new Qualcomm Adreno GPU architecture with a 2.3x gain in performance per watt and enhanced energy efficiency over the previous generation. On the AI side, the Qualcomm Hexagon NPU offers 80 TOPS (trillions of operations per second), which Qualcomm describes as the fastest AI processor available for laptops. These specifications are intended to support workloads such as data analysis, media production, and scientific applications while maintaining thin and light form factors.
Snapdragon X2 Elite for Premium Laptops

The Snapdragon X2 Elite is built for premium laptops, focusing on efficient multitasking across productivity, creativity, and entertainment workloads. Qualcomm reports up to 31% faster performance at the same power compared to the last generation, while reducing power consumption by up to 43%. The platform also integrates the 80 TOPS Hexagon NPU, enabling AI-driven features and Copilot+ support in portable designs.
Availability
Devices powered by the Snapdragon X2 Elite Extreme and Snapdragon X2 Elite are expected to be available in the first half of 2026. With these platforms, Qualcomm continues its efforts to expand in the Windows PC market, emphasizing higher efficiency, AI processing, and performance scaling across professional and consumer devices.
