ADATA has expanded its external storage portfolio with the release of two new rugged solid-state drives (SSDs), the SD820 and SC735. The products are designed to provide fast transfer speeds, reliable data protection, and durable construction, making them suitable for creators, travelers, and professionals who require dependable storage outside of traditional workspaces.
ADATA SD820: Rugged Performance with IP68 Protection
The ADATA SD820 is aimed at outdoor creators and users working in challenging environments. Weighing only 26.5 g, it combines a compact form factor with durable construction. The drive meets MIL-STD-810G 516.6 standards, surviving drops from heights of 1.22 meters. It also carries an IP68 rating, ensuring full resistance to dust and the ability to remain submerged in water up to one meter deep for 60 minutes.
For performance, the SD820 uses a USB 3.2 Gen 2 x2 interface, delivering sequential read and write speeds of up to 2000 MB/s. Like the SD820, the SC735 also meets MIL-STD-810G 516.6 drop test standards, withstanding impacts from 1.22 meters. It offers read speeds up to 1050 MB/s and write speeds of 1000 MB/s, supported by a USB 3.2 Gen 2 interface. Compatibility extends across iOS devices, including iPhone 15 and later, Android smartphones, macOS, Windows PCs, and gaming consoles.
