Funcom revealed the next phase of Dune: Awakening content during its Into the Infinite showcase. The open-world survival crafting game will receive its first major free update, Chapter 2, on September 10, 2025, along with the paid Lost Harvest DLC and a limited-time free trial in celebration of Gamescom.
Chapter 2 Free Update

Chapter 2 continues after the main story’s cliffhanger, introducing new and returning characters, additional locations, and deeper insights into the Imperium’s past. The update brings world events, contracts, new activities, items, and more customization features, including additional hairstyles and a re-customization option for existing characters.
The Lost Harvest DLC
Launching on the same day, The Lost Harvest ($12.99) is a standalone story centered on a Miner’s Guild spice harvester crash. Players are tasked with tracking down a hidden cargo with major consequences.

The DLC introduces new cosmetic rewards such as the Treadwheel vehicle with custom animations, the Dune Man building set, and new weapons, armor, and decorations. Cosmetics offer no gameplay advantage and must be crafted like other in-game items. The content is included in the $24.99 Season Pass and the Deluxe and Ultimate Editions.
Free Trial at Gamescom
From August 20 to August 24, a free trial is available on Steam. Players can access up to 10 hours of gameplay across the Hagga Basin map. Progress and inventory from the trial transfer if the full game is purchased.

Soundtrack Vinyl Pre-Orders
Funcom also announced that the official Dune: Awakening soundtrack by Knut Avenstroup Haugen is available for vinyl pre-order. The music was recorded at AIR Studios in London.
