ASRock has added two new models to its DeskMini series, the DeskMini B860 and DeskMini X600/USB4. These mini PCs are built to deliver desktop-class performance in a compact footprint, supporting the latest Intel and AMD processors along with updated connectivity features.
The DeskMini B860 uses a custom motherboard based on the Intel B860 chipset, featuring the LGA 1851 socket. It supports Intel’s Core Ultra Series 2 processors with a power rating of up to 65W. This includes non-K Core Ultra 200S CPUs, designed to balance performance and efficiency for small form factor systems.
The DeskMini X600/USB4, on the other hand, is built around the AMD AM5 platform. It features a custom X600 chipset motherboard that supports Ryzen 9000, 8000, and 7000 series processors. This configuration provides users with multiple options across AMD’s latest desktop CPU lineups.
Both systems share the same physical design, housed in a 1.92-liter chassis measuring 155 x 155 x 80 mm. The compact enclosure allows for low-profile CPU coolers with a maximum clearance of 47 mm. Memory support includes up to 128 GB of DDR5 across two SODIMM or CSO-DIMM slots. The Intel-based model supports DDR5-6400 speeds, while the AMD variant supports DDR5-5600.
For storage, each system offers two SATA slots for 2.5-inch SSDs and two M.2 2280 slots for NVMe drives. Depending on the platform, users can access PCIe Gen 5.0 and Gen 4.0 interfaces for high-speed storage performance.
Connectivity options on the DeskMini B860 include two DisplayPort 1.4 outputs, one HDMI 2.1 port with support for 4K at 120Hz, and a Thunderbolt 4 port for high-bandwidth peripherals. The DeskMini X600/USB4 features a similar layout but comes with one DisplayPort 1.4 output. Both models include multiple USB Type-A and Type-C ports on the front and rear panels, 2.5G LAN for wired networking, and an optional M.2 Key E slot for adding Wi-Fi modules.
The new DeskMini systems are designed for users who need a compact desktop with support for modern processors, fast storage, and updated connectivity. With Intel and AMD platform choices, they provide flexibility for different use cases such as office productivity, media playback, and light workstation tasks.
