TeamGroup Inc. has officially introduced its latest storage product, the APEX SD7.1 MicroSD Express Card, aimed at meeting the growing performance and capacity demands of gaming consoles and mobile devices. The new memory card takes advantage of the MicroSD Express interface to deliver improved read and write speeds compared to traditional microSD cards.
The APEX SD7.1 is built on a PCIe Gen3 x1 interface and utilizes the NVMe protocol. According to the company, it is capable of reaching sequential read speeds of up to 800 MB/s and write speeds up to 700 MB/s when used with compatible hardware. This makes it one of the faster solutions currently available in the microSD card market, especially for users with devices that support the MicroSD Express standard, such as the expected next-generation Nintendo Switch.

In addition to performance, the card is designed to deliver consistent application responsiveness, with an Application Performance Class rating of A1. This ensures it can handle storage-heavy mobile apps and games with minimal delays, reducing load times and improving system responsiveness in supported environments.

TeamGroup is offering the APEX SD7.1 in four capacities: 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. The 1TB model is capable of storing more than 30 standard-sized game titles, making it a practical option for gamers and content creators who need large storage in a compact form factor. It also supports Video Speed Class V30, allowing for smooth 4K UHD video recording, which is beneficial for users involved in content creation or high-resolution media capture.

Durability is also a key aspect of the new card. The APEX SD7.1 is built with protection against water, shock, X-rays, and static electricity. It also operates in a wide temperature range, making it suitable for a variety of usage scenarios, including outdoor and travel-based environments. TeamGroup includes a limited lifetime warranty with the product, offering buyers additional confidence in the card’s longevity and performance.
Although the full availability schedule has not yet been detailed, TeamGroup has indicated that more information will be shared through its official communication channels. The APEX SD7.1 MicroSD Express Card represents an important step forward in microSD technology, particularly for devices that are beginning to adopt the faster MicroSD Express interface.
