Dune: Awakening Set for June Release, Head Start Available for Deluxe and Ultimate Pre-Orders

Funcom has officially confirmed the release schedule for Dune: Awakening, its upcoming survival MMO set in the iconic world of Arrakis. The game will be available to the public starting June 10, with a head start option opening on June 5 for players who pre-ordered either the Deluxe or Ultimate Edition.

Players who secure either of those editions will be able to access the game five days ahead of the official release. The head start begins at 16:00 CEST / 10:00 AM EDT on June 5. Those who pre-order any edition of the game — including the standard base edition — will also receive the “Terrarium of Muad’Dib” in-game reward, though only Deluxe and Ultimate Edition holders will get early access.

Pre-loading for the game will become available on June 4, 24 hours before the head start period begins. This option is limited to those who pre-ordered, but early access is only granted to Deluxe and Ultimate Edition buyers. Players who pre-order the base edition will still need to wait until the full launch on June 10.

When the game launches on June 10, all three editions — Base, Deluxe, and Ultimate — will be available for standard purchase. Pre-order incentives, including the Terrarium reward, will no longer be available after that date.

At launch, Dune: Awakening will go live across multiple global time zones, but the primary unlock time is set for 16:00 CEST / 10:00 AM EDT. A time zone map is available on the game’s official site to help players identify the exact unlock time for their region.

Funcom has also confirmed that several servers (referred to as “Worlds”) will be live during the head start. The full server lineup, however, will launch on June 10 alongside the official release. Players starting on launch day will be able to join newly opened servers or choose to join existing ones used during the head start, depending on where their friends are playing.

Ahead of launch, the studio is encouraging players to check the game’s official system requirements to ensure their hardware is ready for Arrakis. The developers previously shared the specifications, which include both minimum and recommended hardware configurations for PC users.

In addition, a new developer livestream is scheduled for May 28. This stream will offer an in-depth look at the mid-to-late game experience, giving fans a better idea of what content lies beyond the initial gameplay shown during previous beta weekends.

Dune: Awakening is being developed in partnership with Legendary Entertainment and aims to merge survival gameplay with large-scale MMO elements, all within the lore of the Dune universe. With the game’s release just around the corner, players who want early access and pre-order bonuses still have a narrow window to secure them before June 5.
