Corsair has officially launched the MP700 ELITE series, a new line of PCIe 5.0 SSDs aimed at bringing high-performance storage solutions to the mainstream market. Designed to push system speeds to new heights, the MP700 ELITE series offers sequential read speeds reaching up to 10,000 MB/sec and sequential write speeds of up to 8,500 MB/sec. This breakthrough in storage technology is powered by a PCIe 5.0 x4 controller, enabling users to benefit from faster boot times, game load speeds, and file transfers, which together promise a smoother and more efficient computing experience.
The MP700 ELITE series features high-density 3D TLC NAND, a storage technology known for its balance of speed and durability. This robust NAND type ensures the drives maintain optimal performance and endure the demands of heavy, continuous use. With Microsoft DirectStorage support, the MP700 ELITE series can reduce load times in compatible games by allowing direct communication between the SSD and the GPU. This feature is expected to benefit gamers by providing a more seamless and immersive gaming experience, especially in open-world or resource-intensive titles.
In addition to performance, the Corsair MP700 ELITE series offers flexibility in form factor and compatibility. Available in the compact M.2 2280 form factor, these SSDs cater to a range of system setups. The MP700 ELITE is available in two configurations: with a heatsink for standalone use in desktop motherboards, and without a heatsink, suited for integrated cooling solutions in high-end motherboards or laptops. This design choice gives users the option to optimize heat management based on their system needs, ensuring the SSD performs at its best across diverse environments.
The MP700 ELITE series also supports backward compatibility with PCIe 4.0 and PCIe 3.0 platforms, which allows users with older systems to adopt this high-speed storage technology and prepare for future upgrades. However, to fully harness the drive’s potential, a PCIe 5.0-compatible platform, such as Intel’s 800-series or AMD’s 800-series motherboards, is required.
Corsair has further enhanced the MP700 ELITE’s user experience with a five-year warranty, reinforcing its reliability and longevity. Additionally, the Corsair SSD Toolbox software enables users to perform advanced drive management, including firmware updates, drive health monitoring, and secure file erasure.
The Corsair MP700 ELITE series is available in 1 TB and 2 TB models and can be purchased immediately from the Corsair website and a network of authorized retailers worldwide. This release continues Corsair’s focus on high-performance storage solutions, marking a significant advancement in SSD technology for mainstream consumers seeking faster and more reliable storage options.
