BenQ has officially introduced its latest home cinema projectors, the W5850 and W4100i, as part of its new Home Cinema Series. Aimed at delivering premium viewing experiences across various home setups, the two models feature solid-state illumination (SSI), high color accuracy, and advanced image processing technologies. The launch is intended to meet the growing demand for large-screen entertainment solutions that combine high image quality with installation flexibility.
According to BenQ, the new lineup emphasizes longevity, energy efficiency, and precision through the use of LED and laser-based lighting systems. These technologies offer long-lasting performance and consistent brightness, reducing the need for lamp replacements while also contributing to lower power consumption. This marks a significant step forward in solidifying BenQ’s position in the home projector segment.
The projectors come factory-calibrated and carry certifications from THX and ISF, underscoring their focus on accurate image reproduction. All models in the lineup support 100% Rec.709 and DCI-P3 color spaces, while higher-end units such as the W5850 are calibrated to Delta E <2, which ensures color reproduction closely matches original content. BenQ’s proprietary HDR-PRO technology also plays a key role in visual enhancement, supporting HDR10, HDR10+, and HLG formats through a multi-stage processing engine that adjusts global and local contrast levels.
Another notable feature across the lineup is the new AI Cinema Mode. Designed to enhance compressed streaming content, it uses real-time image analysis to automatically fine-tune HDR settings, color saturation, and sharpness. This is particularly useful for users relying on streaming platforms, where video quality can vary due to compression. The AI Cinema Mode aims to deliver more consistent results across different content types and lighting conditions.
BenQ W5850: High-End Performance for Dedicated Home Theaters

The W5850 is tailored for large, dedicated theater rooms, offering a 2600-lumen blue laser light source and a flexible throw ratio of 1.0–1.6. It supports screens up to 200 inches, with a motorized zoom, digital lens shift in four directions, and advanced color calibration. With its ability to reproduce 100% Rec.709 and DCI-P3 color spaces at Delta E <2, the projector is intended for users who prioritize picture fidelity and are looking to build or upgrade a serious home theater setup.
BenQ W4100i: Versatile Streaming-Ready Home Cinema

Positioned as a more versatile option, the W4100i is designed for multipurpose media rooms. It includes Android TV for native streaming access and leverages the same AI Cinema technology for improved content playback. With a 3200-lumen LED light source and support for HDR formats, it balances brightness and color accuracy, making it suitable for environments with moderate ambient light.
BenQ W2720i: Home Theater for the Living Room
For more casual setups, the W2720i offers adaptive ambient light correction and built-in AI enhancements. These features automatically adjust picture settings to accommodate changes in lighting and viewing angles. The projector also supports flexible installation, making it a practical choice for users looking to bring cinema-quality visuals into living room spaces.

Across all models, BenQ includes modern connectivity features such as HDMI 2.1, SPDIF, and eARC support. These interfaces enable compatibility with advanced audio formats, including Dolby Atmos and 7.1 surround sound systems. Additionally, a low-latency Fast Mode reduces input lag to just 17.9 milliseconds, which benefits not only movie playback but also gaming and live sports.
BenQ’s new Home Cinema Series aims to deliver reliable performance and installation flexibility to suit a wide range of viewing environments. With support for modern content formats and attention to visual accuracy, the W5850, W4100i, and W2720i position themselves as strong options in the evolving home projector market.
